There are many ways volunteers can support the mission of COOL and give much needed help at the food pantry and family housing units. Whether it is stocking shelves, picking up donations, helping with repairs or one of the many jobs in between, our staff is always happy to welcome you and get you started.

Volunteers are needed at Pantry East in Waukegan. We have great opportunities for school, church and scout youth programs.

There are many ways to volunteer and help at COOL Family Housing. Please call our Case Manager at 847-662-1340 if you have questions or wish to volunteer to help COOL!!

Volunteer Projects at COOL Family Housing

Lawn Maintenance (mowing, trimming shrubs, weeding, raking leaves)

Cleaning (includes carpet cleaning, general cleaning and house cleaning after construction projects and move outs)

Landscaping  (tending flower beds and pulling weeds and seasonal landscaping projects)

Power wash siding

Cleaning gutters

Show shoveling, salting driveways and sidewalks

Painting

Minor plumbing repairs

Screen repairs and replacements

Window repairs and installation of blinds
